Just kidding. He did.
Today’s question is an obvious one given the current news: DOJ Says There Is No Epstein List.
Okay, to catch you up on this saga - Jeffrey Epstein and his paramour Ghilane Maxell got caught in a sex trafficking ring all the way back in 2005 but it wasn’t until the Feds got involved in 2019.
But the entire thing is worth a deep dive in and of itself - the relationships between Maxwell and Epstein is deliciously complicated and confusing. Maybe at least to me, because I just can’t understand why this woman was so into pleasing Epstein. There’s the whole New York socialite bit of it - where everyone who was everyone was photographed with the guy.
There’s his death by apparent suicide but no evidence was given so the meme “Jeffrey Epstein didn’t kill himself” was born. . . and then the DOJ releases a video and it’s been altered and it shows nothing but they wanted to show it as proof. What? What the what?
So anyway - now we have the government coming out and saying, “Nothing to see here, folks, don’t waste your time.” A thing that’s captured America’s attention since 2019 and even before and you think ANYONE is going to be satisfied with that since Trump literally ran on releasing the files.
First, we go to the memo that just got released.
This is the part we’re gonna care about:
”This systematic review revealed no incriminating 'client list.' There was also no credible evidence found that Epstein blackmailed prominent individuals as part of his action”
So there’s no client list. And I’m not surprised. Every article that mentions it is part of someone feeding the conspiracy theory. I searched and searched and searched. Not a single reputable person saying that phrase: “client list.”
So what list? Well, they did have a contact book. But that’s like releasing everyone in your phone contacts. Same with plane logs - a dude like that looks to bring fancy people on his jet so he can feel important, it’s not proof of anything. You don’t get a fancy plane and not share it with people who make you feel good. Dude clearly had problems.
But I always wondered why they’d be so stupid to keep a “client list.” Turns out they don’t.

Sorry this one wasn’t more exciting, but when I ran across this video of the press secretary specifically saying nobody ever said “client list” I was like, “This is either spin or true.” No evidence of spin. Nobody legit ever said “client list.”
The annoying bit, for me, is that the Democrats are picking this up as some political fodder to make the MAGA base who is mad at Trump over there not being a list released . . . and they’re trying to force a release of the files. And frankly, I believe the Press Secretary on this one - it’s full of child porn and a contact list. The minute we see all these names, we’ll associate them with Epstein. And, honestly, it just isn’t fair. And most people who don’t run in those circles will not get it - but if you’re part of a big powered social scene, you’ll be on people’s speed dials, whether you are tight or not. Like, Dems, come on, focus on something that MATTERS. Even if Trump and his ilk were part of this circle, there’s plenty out there that suggests it . . . and enough people still don’t believe it or care. Move on.
But at the same time, what if this is his undoing since he’s the one that pushed it so hard in the first place?
